A'ISHA AZAR is a professional belly dancer and theatrical costumer. She has 34 years experience making costumes for dancers. She spent 7 years in Eastern Washington University's Theater Department, as costume designer and shop supervisor.
Currently, A'isha designs and builds costumes and costume themes for Baharat!! Dance Company and is artistic director of the company. She continues to do costuming for individual dancers and groups.
Ai'sha's dance costume philosophy is that costuming is meant to enhance the dance and the dancer, in order to help the dancer look and be the best she can be. Costumes must be danceable as well as beautiful.

THE WORKSHOP

Price- $ 25 in advance, $30 at the door
In this class, A'isha will share concepts for creating a perfect fit and styling for bras and belts, as well as discussing the elements of couture costuming. What makes it professional in quality and looks? The class will cover:
- A short history of the modern belly dance costume
- 3 different belt construction styles and how to make them fit
- Various techniques for covering bras and belts
- Workshop participants will receive a basics handout. (Vicki Horiuchi's costume manual will be available for sale as well.)
- Problem solving- If you have a costume that's giving you trouble, bring it in and we'll try to help.

THE SWAP MEET

$2 entrance fee for shoppers
Come to the Swap Meet to buy or sell or browse. New and well loved used items for sale. Come and see what's new for YOU at the Swap Meet!! Find a beautiful skirt or a great buy on a bra and belt set, or maybe some new music or a great DVD, or maybe some jewelry, some fabulous fabric. A chance for dancers to shop for what THEY want to buy!
Vendors- Tables are $10 each for approximately 30x 75 inch tables. (Some will be bigger). If you are interested in vending, please fill out the information below and send payment. Please bring your own clothing racks.
