Class Schedule and Information
Beginning Belly Dance
Thursday, 6:30- 7:30 PM
This class introduces students to the 10 fundamental movements of belly dance and explores variations on movement. Students are introduced to Middle Eastern music and culture. A short choreography is learned. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of playing finger cymbals and to other aspects of Middle Eastern dance, including the use of veils in Egyptian and American styles. Beginning belly dance classes are approximately one year long, during which time students can join the class at any time.
Continuing Belly Dance
Sunday, 10:00- 11:00 A.M.
Monday, 6:00- 7:00 P.M.
These classes are based on A'isha's "Exploring" Series. Students learn variations, layering and phrasing for Egyptian belly dance. Classes are based on the fundamental movements and taking them to a more complex and more musically interpretive level.
The deeper study of music, costuming, folkloric dance and other aspects of Middle Eastern dance ands culture are offered in continuing belly dance classes.
Private and Semiprivate Classes
A'isha offers private and semi private classes in both belly dance and folkdance. Times can be arranged on Sundays or some days during the week.
Costuming
A'isha offers a belly dance costuming class once a year, usually in January or February. Please email for more information.
